Economic calendar: Quarterly results day for Tesla, Netflix and Goldman Sachs💡

8:37 AM July 19, 2023

  • Quarterly results for Tesla, Netlix and Goldman Sachs

  • Eurozone HICP inflation data and oil inventory change data

Today's macro calendar is packed with some important data from the US and the eurozone. At 7:00 am BST, investors were presented with important CPI inflation data from the UK, which showed a marked decline in the country's price growth rate for goods and services. The pound lost ground after the publication as expectations of a more hawkish BoE decision at the next meeting in August fell. HICP inflation data will also be released in the afternoon, this time for the euro area.  Consensus points to a lower headline reading and a slightly higher core reading. The macro calendar will be topped off today with the US housing starts report and the change in US oil inventories.

That's not all, however, as today we also have some very important company results for Q2 2023 awaiting us. In Europe, ASML and Volvo, among others, have already presented their results. In the US, these will include Tesla, Netflix, IBM and Goldman Sachs.
